Towards the end of May, Yantian International Container Terminals’ productivity was severely impacted as the port authority took measures to limit the spread of a cluster of positive COVID-19 cases.
Congestion has now spread from Yantian across other ports in the Pearl River Delta, including Shekou and Nansha, as carriers announce cancellations and shippers try to move product elsewhere.
